Experience with Freestyle Libre (for diabetics)
Hello everyone, I have had diabetes for seven years, and for the last year, I have been using a freestyle libre (the kind of sensor that you stick on your arm and measure your blood sugar without taking blood from your finger.)
I know that the device can withstand exposure to water during showering or swimming, but I'm worried (sometimes panicked) that it will stop working. When I take a shower, I either cover that arm with cellophane or just try to avoid getting it wet. And as for swimming, I had to stop because of this sensor.
Sometimes it happens to me that the sensor starts to come off after a few days, and it always makes me panic a little. What's been your experience with it? Are my worries unnecessary? On the one hand, I'm glad I don't have to draw blood from my finger, but on the other hand, I stress about the shower every day. It stresses me out a lot..I avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, baths..
