archery

am going to be joining the disabled section of a local archery club here soon.,cant wait.
am want to get own bow as am know am good at it [was told to go pro/serious,whilst at bendrigg],though have no idea which one as have only ever used two and both of them were long bows [with different weight and pressure].
have seen so many of them online that look great,find all the different names for them too confusing,and dont know how easy those nice looking ones are to use.
does anyone have any ideas on these?


is there anyone on here who does archery?
are in a club,or do have own land or use public land?

I have always enjoyed archery! I think it is incredibly relaxing--just me, focusing on the target. I took some lessons a few years ago given by a local archery club. I then bought a cheap bow and some arrows, put up a target on some straw bales up against a garden shed, and shoot the target probably four or five mornings a week. I am lucky that we have a very long, skinny back yard. I belong to a medieval recreation group, and as soon as I am good enough, I might save up to buy a better, more period-looking bow. My bow is a Polaris recurve (made in China). I bought it because it was the only one I could find that had a wussy draw weight and was left-handed, at an actual shop where I could try it out. Actually, it meets my current needs quite well. I hope you have a great time!

Archery is very enjoyable, my greatest regret is that I did not take it up many years earlier.

I shoot both Compound and Traditional Longbow at a local club and I do historical re enactment when I can in many parts of the country.

I did archery a lot in scouts. I impressed everybody with my aim when I did the test for the archery merit badge. It's been a long time, but I bet I could still do it. I've been meaning to take up archery in Dagorhir, but I'll have to build arrows.

I do traditional archery and I often practice at local ranges. It's a fun sport, and one benefit about being part of a club is that you can learn correct form which will improve your scores.
