I am in the process of starting up an aikido club at my university!

I'm so excited... get to teach and start working out more regularly than I have been recently (since i moved to this town for school)...

Hey Jerry, I'll let you know more about it when things are more concrete.... I don't know much about fighting with swords (per se)... but hand to hand combat is something i can do!

I may even get paid to teach it as a registered class in the future (**crosses fingers**)

I think in all Aikido when you pass san kyu you have to teach as a requirement of the IYAF to grade for your next kyu.

Out of curiosity what style do you practice, I am Yoshinkai and would never change, I tried Aikikai in Malaysia and thought they style was sloppy (no negative connatiation in sloppy just compared to Yoshinkai they let a lot of things slide).

Teaching is optional at my Aikido dojo, regardless of rank - except if the regular teacher doesn't show up, and then it's up to whomever is highest ranked to teach. We are unaffiliated, though.
