I have had trouble for my entire life with team sports such as basketball, football, rugby, etc. Often times I can learn the rules, but cannot put them into practice. A huge part of it is that I have exteremely poor coordination. I have heard ping pong is good for this, but I am really bad at that too. Any advise? Are there people out there (professionals) that I could see to help? What have you done if you experience similar problems?

My advice would be to pick a sport you like and go with it, put 100% of your effort into it, then if you really want to achieve something in that sport you will, and you will get good at it over time.
I had horrible balance, cant write, I cant tie my shoes, cant throw or catch a ball for the life of me. I was the one always picked last in gym class and failed at gym. I am the least likely person to be a athlete.
Since I was a little kid it was always my dream to become a professional bike racer. After I graduated from school I decided to give it a try. My first race I crashed hard, slided down the road, and ended up taking a trip to the hospital. I decided to try some more races, 10-15 races after that and three crashes later, I still was doing horrible. I was at a point where I could have gave up at it and said that I am just not good at sports. It seems that allot of people say that they are uncordinated and are horrible at sports and will never do good at them, but have they truly put enough effort into it to be able to say that? Did they give up early at it? If you really want something you can achieve it. You can be good at football, basketball, ect. if you really want to be.
Because I didn't give up and stuck with it I now race the pro races. I am still a long way away from making a pro team, but I don't question myself, whether I will make it.
I guess what I am trying to say is that there is help, like personal trainers, coaching, ect. that could help, but they can only do so much, they are not going to make you good at any sport. You have to pick the sport you want and train at it and never give up at it. With enough motivation you will eventually get good at it if you really want to be.

Thank you for your reply. I guess I should rephrase my question. I have tried a number of sports, and failed every time. Most of the time, I would go in with the intention of sticking to it, but after a certain point, my coaches or trainers would get tired of my lack of progress. I don't feel sorry for myself, just trying to improve here. Any helpful advise would be greatly appreciated
