Dysphoria is a dissatisfaction or dislike about something. It is the opposite of euphoria. When someone is dysphoric, their risk of suicide increases so it becomes a prime focus of psychiatry to quickly ease a dysphoric state.

More often than not, those experiencing a dysphoric state are judged even more harshly. This doesn't help.

I've had periods of dysphoria most of my life. It is a symptom of depression so anyone who is depressed understands what dysphoria is.

I have dsyphoric manias, which is absolute living hell.

You have all the energy of a full blown mania and suicidal depression.

Most of my IP hospitalizations were for dsyphoric manias.

Why the shrinks drop the hammer on it hard...

Dsyphoric manias are lethal. You have enough energy to carry out however you planned to off yourself. Most of the time suicides have the added bonus of drug and or alcohol use, which lowers your inhibition. Irritable+lack of sleep+distorted view point of relative+suicidal thoughts+boat load of energy=you don't need a drug or drink to shove you over the edge. It's all right there.

I'll admit this, I am a total pain in the ass when manic. I'm absolutely horrible with a dsyphoric mania. You are ALL wrong. lol...There is no talking to me, and I'm usually a danger to myself.

I have never heard the term dsyphoric depression except in the early 1990s, then it was switch to dsyphoric manias. Even now, if the word dsyphoric is used, it is associated with bipolar mixed states, at least where I live.

I'd rather be flat out suicidally depressed than a dsyphoric mania any day.

Generally, people with psychological disabilities tend to have mastered in some skills which seem to be extraordinary for people like me. Never give up.
