Here is a speculative post. I was wondering if anyone has ever experimented with any illegal substances in order to attempt to make their ASD symptoms better, and if so, info posted her may help.

In my experience, i would say that using Benzo's did help reduce my anxiety to a greater extent.
Many years ago, while in India, i did also use for a couple of days a little amount of opium.
Which also made life very pleasant, although i understand that opiates have major addiction problems.

I remember reading about some people who proclaimed that low dose MDMA was excellent for curing depression.
Although i believe that that statement was a speculation more than anything.

I was wondering if a low dose of magic mushroom or other drugs would be beneficial.
Although not sure if that would lower the sensory overload or increase it?...

Valium for anxiety yes when needed not to be used all the time. Like most addictive substances they can cause the problem you are trying to treat eventually by needing more, this seems to be the same with most other drugs too they induce the original problem after a while usually greater than the original Anxiety.
I was told to try thc for Anxiety by a friend, in my case it just made problem worse than the original state of Anxiety and I never tried it again. It may be down to the individuals Genetics but drugs are not to be played with as a treatment in my opinion even Antidepressants but everybody is different this is just my experience with them.

I took Klonopin regularly for a a bit cuz of a tremor disorder that's made worse by anxiety. Klonopin helped my anxiety & tremors at 1st but I found it quit helping after a bit. After being off it for a couple years, I was prescribed Klonopin by a different doc for occasional use for anxiety. I find Klonopin helps my anxiety & can help with some other issues like my tremors but I only use it if I feel the need. I'm prescribed the lowest dose & I sometimes cut the pills in half. I've had some good luck with psych meds but I've also had some bad luck as well. My luck with them got better after I started doing my own research & I had a better understanding of my own issues & know what the causes & effects of my various things are. Just talking to my psychiatrist & letting her prescribe me whatever didn't work nearly as well for me compared to now where I explain the issues to my GP & ask for specific meds.
