Maybe, but I have the type of perspective that can turn a casual smile of a woman into a happy, fulfilling life of marriage/merging by the time she regains her usual mask.

"Having a diagnosis" can push me either way. If I don't agree with it I want a second opinion. I just went through that with a periodontist. It took me about a month to get my dental records, x-rays, arrange them in proper order along with perio charts for the past three years. Then I went in. He said I was well prepared or something to that effect, I had all the x-rays on my computer to show him so he would have them at the time of my exam.

I think allowing a diagnosis to open doors is one of the things a civilized sort of place would set up.

There are so many controversial, ironic, paradoxical things about psychiatry that I left it in 1989, I was burned out after fifteen years.
