Hypomania?
SSRIs don't always make a person hypomanic/manic immediately, but they can have the "Kindling" effect, in which they make bipolar worse. Untreated, bipolar can get worse as well. Bipolar II can become bipolar I, hypomania becomes full blown mania.
Psychosis during hypomania doesn't happen. If you're psychotic or have been, you may well be having a manic episode. If it happens again, go over to ER. As it is, you probably need to see a pdoc or something.
And watch your sleep. I know how hard is to sleep during the high of bipolar, but try and get some normal sleep. As great a hypomania feels, you need to stop it from getting worse, and not sleeping will only make it worse!

I get rapid cycling, mixed episodes, agitated depression and severe side effects.
SSRIs even led to a suicide attempt two years ago in my case.

Hmm, this is what happened to me, minus the suicide attempt because the medication was taken off me before anything happened. 10mgs of Celexa didn't do much, when the dose was increased, I ended up agitated, depressed and suicidal, with enough screaming and constant thoughts to make my head explode. think I was in a mixed state, but no ones said anything about it.
SSRI's are dangerous to people who have bipolar, espcially without a mood stabiliser.

I even was in a hospital at that time.
But they didn't get it and kept changing my meds, because on all of them I ended up with severe side effects and than I lost it.
It was the first and last time in my life that something like this happened to me and now me and my new shrink are extremly carefull with meds.
