Me never did but it's an easy label that covers a lot and a lot of people use their condition to avoid having to deal with their personality issues.
Many would prefer to take a pill to make themselves feel better rather than soul searching.
It has been suggested by many medics I am/might bi-polar/manic-depressive but never been diagnosed proper as such because I have always refused a diagnosis that addressed the symptoms rather than the causes.
I asked a psychiatrist once if it were not for my periods would I be considered bi-polar and they had no answer. Time has given me the answer though... being semi-menopausal is great, no more regular deep dark days where the unbearableness of being is almost too much to bear. Roll on future on that level anyway
