Today i met a lady who is trained to deal with autistic children she is also having a centre where autistic children come to learn
I wanted her to test and assess me and say whether i have asperger

She did a DSM test and asked few questions to know whether i have Asperger, she said in the end that i dont have serious level of asperger and its not that i should be trained in any aspect like she trains autistic children or something

She didnt diagnose me with asperger but asked me to meet a counsellor since she felt that my problems are basically related to other issues
and i cannot be trained to socialise either but with counselling many hidden issues will come out....which will in turn help me out.

Interesting, counceling will clear up anything else that is on you're mind. It was counceling that had found my autism.

ok the lady as referred me to some counsellor who has dealt with asperger patients earlier
so probably she would be able to ascertain whether i have aspergers or not?
but if counselling would help me regain my confidence or self esteem then useful

That means she wasn't an expert and she is now sending you to one to get confirmation for a diagnosis, well at least in the united states, that's how it would work. Is it the same process, General to Specialist in India? I think that's a good sign that she's sending you to a specialist, that way you'll get the right direction.

the counsellor wont diagnose me either she would just counsel me to regain my low self esteem.
and this lady asked me to work at her autistic centre with the children as a volunteer....she says it will help me learn things and interact with people etc
