So many people have told me that I'm a hypochondriac because I don't "look like" I have a PDD. What does a PDD "look like"? Obviously, a severe case is quickly recognized, but what about mild cases? According to a lovely little google search and my trusty Oxford dictionary, Hypochondria is a belief that physical symptoms are signs of a serious illness, even when there is no medical evidence to support the presence of an illness. I have evidence. I have lists of symptoms that people with PDDs have and have highlighted the ones that I have. I have taken test after test multiple times and gotten a neuro-aytpical score. Plus, I don't see a PDD as a serious illness... Anyone agree with me here?

I don't think you're a hypochondriac if you're actually autistic. Maybe care about what others think less?

Hypochondria is also called "health anxiety disorder", and it's when people are obsessed with their health to the point of irrationality.

Those people clearly don't know what they are talking about.

Question: do people with health anxiety disorder worry/obsess about their mental health as well or is it only possible to be a hypochondriac when obsessed with your physical health?

My understanding is it's obsession with a condition that is "severely debilitating" or deadly. Obsessing over something like Schizophrenia would be considered hypochondria if you weren't schizophrenic.
