If your research indicates that you may be on the Autism/ Asperger's spectrum, you should go to a psych doc who has experience working with people on the spectrum in your age group. Next time you see your current doc, TELL HER (in a nice way), don't ask, that you want a referral to a psych doc who has such experience. If your doc won't give you the referral, contact the local mental health department (phone book), and ask them for a referral to a psych doc with Autism/Asperger's treatment experience with your age group.
