Sorry if this is in the wrong sub forum, but I think this is where this post belongs.

The other day I posted a thread where I listed aspergers traits that I have. However, I do not have and have never had any repetitive behaviors and no intense obsession with any interests in particular (like aspergers people do). I don't have these traits, but they are needed for diagnosis, according to the criteria in the DSM-IV. It states online that the two main characteristics of PDD-NOS (Pervasive developmental disorder-Not otherwise specified) are difficulties with social interaction skills and communication. I do have difficulties with social interaction skills, but I have no communication (trouble with speech and understanding speech) issues at all. But despite that, and knowing that I have so many aspergers traits but not enough to be diagnosed with it, could I have PDD-NOS?

Look up:
Social Communication Disorder, it's in the new DSM-V:

Well, otherwise they might just be traits and what do you need a diagnoses for?
I mean, what are your difficulties exactly?

Good luck getting a straight answer,Eight years ago I was diagnosed with GAD,and bi-polar disorder and the therapist said possibly high functioning autism( I apologize if this term is offensive to some,I am only repeating what the psychologist said) now my new doctor say it's ADHD.How can they switch this around? It dos'nt explain my sensory issues at all,you can get a different diagnosis from each doctor you see,it's confusing as H--l!!

There is a book about it:
The ADHD-Autism Connection: A Step Toward More Accurate Diagnoses and Effective Treatments
by Diane Kennedy

Also people with ADHD have more often sensory processing disorder.
Not everyone with sensory processing disorder has autism.
My cousin has it and has dyslexia, but not autism.

Well, if I were you, I would go to an expert in this area who can diagnose you correctly.

Autism is most of the time very easily identified, if you look for it, but with traits or if it's just slight it's much more difficult.
