I am an aspie and my ex knew that, he acutally loved it about me. But he hated that I didn't express my emotions like he did. He is the most emotional person I have ever met in my entire life. He has OCD and depression. He also has a lot of bipolar in his family. I do too and he acts more bipolar than OCD. He knows I am upset and miss him and I am pretty sure he feels the same. He knows I have been wanting to talk to him but he won't talk to me. I am still close with his family and he won't come say hi when I come to hang out with his sister who adores me. His sisiter says he is depressed and won't speak to people and he crys alot. But he broke up with me because of my lack of emotions. So it was somthing he wanted but hes depressed about it and he won't change it or fix it. I am thinking he is bipolar but I am not sure. He is to depressed to talk to anyone really. Should I try to speak with him? Maybe I could help get him out of his depression? He was able to help me with mine in the past.

I would definitely recommend at least trying to help him. So long as you didn't do anything to offend him beyond the emotions thing then I can imagine he'd be happy to see that you cared. When I was depressed I tried to cut off my friends and my boyfriend, seeing them as too good for me and somehow harmful at the same time. You could most likely help him out of that pit of depression, but it'll take a lot of patience and effort. I hope you'd be capable of putting that into your relationship, and if so I'm sure you'll be able to help.

I have bipolar, and I can say that processing grief, loss and change is extremely difficult, especially when in a manic or depressive episode. I tend to get stuck. When we break up with somebody we love then it is a great big pile of grief. I have shut people off or snapped at them just because the pain is still acute and I can't process it. Space and distance help me to heal.

I don't know whether this is what is going on for you guys or not, it's probably more complex than just that, but something to think about.
