Does anyone with DXed (or suspected?) bipolar have music tastes that change over time between your mood swings?

For me, when I'm depressed, I like something sappy and girly like Carly Rae Jepsen or Katy Perry, but when I'm "manic," I need hardcore metal or hard rock.

I'm "manic" right now, and I'm currently listening to Asylum by Disturbed. A few months ago, I would never have done this. I spent all day yesterday listening to Russian death metal.

Can anyone relate?

Yeah, except for me, it's the opposite of yours. Ill listen to the girly pop music when Im hypomanic, and the heavy metal when I'm depressed.

I have mostly no difference, just slightly.

I have a playlist I listen to, no matter what mood I'm in.

I tend to listen to emotionally intense music when I am depressed (a.k.a. metal, alt. rock, etc), and not listen to music at all when manic.

yes! i often listen to music to fit my mood. music sometimes touches more than my immediate emotions so i listen for other reasons... depressive music can help me out sometimes though as can cheesy techno.... :D
