Has anyone else ever heard of the term "Cosmophobia"? A website of the same name describes it as "An unreasoning fear of the cosmos", and specifically applies it toward various doomsday fantasies involving: Objects in Space (Nibiru and Comet Elenin), Alignments (Planetary Alignments, Magnetic Pole Shifts, and Galactic Alignments), Man-Made Disasters (the LHC), and Conspiracy Theories (Google Sky), and even includes a list of who they call "Fearmongers" (Nancy Lieder, Donny Gillson, Terral Croft, James McCanney, Alexander Retrov, Pane Andov, Patrick Geryl, and Marshall Masters).

Do you know of anyone who has fallen for any doomsday fantasies?

Have YOU fallen for one or more doomsday fantasy?

There were a group of people in a cave around here hiding from the comet and the poles switching.

At first I thought this post was about a fear of Cosmopolitan magazine.

No since worrying about doomsday,if it happens,so be it.You are more likely to choke to death on a chicken nugget.

My first thought was fear of the Cosmopolitan drink. I don't know anyone with cosmophobia, though.

Which would be perfectly reasonable, considering ideas for intercourse like this:

Spoiler alert: Don't actually use a fork, it's not going to end well

i must admit that i have a mild worry about objects heading toward that are undetected on the sunlit side of our sky.
that object that entered the atmosphere in russia recently was completely undetected, and it is possible that other objects that are much larger could be headed our way from that direction.

i have witnessed 2 meteorites in the last year (one of which i heard a localized bang), and i wonder whether the solar system is moving through a cloud of rocky objects that have questionable or even unknown trajectories.

then that russian episode in february elevated my concern. we can not detect objects approaching us on the sunny side of earth due to the fact that their luminosity is drowned out by the suns luminosity as well as the fact that the angle of incidence of the reflections of their luminosity is less than 90 degrees with respect to their position in our observable sky with relation to the sun.

who knows?
i am hiding in my basement. it is well that that is where my bedroom is,

I'm quite scared of Cosmopolitan magazine, if that counts.
