The free online personality assessment shows I score high on paranoia (which is understandable since I've been mistreated my whole life and don't trust easily) and also on schizotypal. I'm trying to get more information about it, but there is nothing at my library. Does anyone have any experience with it? Or can anyone recommend a good book or two? Thanks.

Well both are "cluster A" personality disoders and both are somewere on the schizophrenic spectrum, but still considered as personality disorders.

I just found that video about schizotypal PD and I like it very much, also because I can totally relate to it:

At what age did it start? Women usually start showing schizophrenic symptoms in their mid twenties or mid thirties-40. Men show signs during late teens.

I think you are talking about schizophrenia and even there it's slightly different:

But so far I understood, catwhisperer is talking about personality disoders: paranoid and schizotypal. It's true that they are on the schizophrenic spectrum, but they still differentiate in their symptoms, severity and onset from schizophrenia.

It just means that you scored higher on a free online personality test.
If you still think you could have any of those disorders you should go to a psychiatrist for a diagnostic evaluation.

Yeah I did and she said I have PTSD based on our 1 session eval. So with just 1 session, I did my usual hide/denial about my social issues so the possibility of aspergers did not come up. Sometimes I wonder if there is anything else going on, but I guess it actually could be that what I went through not too long ago really accerbated the PTSD.

Based on what I've gone through and what I still don't understand about social interactions, it makes sense for me to not trust people and to score high on paranoia. Its not irrational because I actually did live through that stuff and fear the same or worse can happen again. From what I understand about schizotypal I imagine its my avoidance of people and social interactions that leads to high scores on that.

Thank you for all the suggestions, and the videos were really helpful.
