I've always been disturbed about the extreme inconsistancy in my ability to complete tasks, win competitions, ect. The thing is some days I will behave like a typical type A person: I will be extremely competent at every thing I do, I will have good motor skills ( sometimes better than average!), and I will excell in my hobbies such as bjj.
Than, the next day, I will be the complete opisite: Will be extremely clumsy, forgetful;will lock my keys in my car, drop stuff, screw up on task ect.
This is very unlike others who seem to either be good at stuff all the time or suck at stuff all the time. It's terrible and I'm sure it has driven all my employers crazy. Infact sometimes I feel employers would actually rather have someone who was a lousy worker all of the time because, at least they'd know what to expect! My problem is so bad that it is very common for two different people to have completely different compitence assessnents of me. I also find it strange that I can perform well in the presence of certain people and perform poorly in the presence of others. This drives me nuts! Why can't I keep my level of performance high all the time?

For me, trying to process other people's expectations means sometimes, what they think impacts my performance a lot. And sometimes not. I agree with you, though, about employers and people generally preferring consistency. Which I have, but not always in the ways they want.

I find other people inconsistent quite a bit. Sometimes, that gets to me. And I think getting emotional makes me seem inconsistent.

Do you think your performance could be varying because other people's inconsistency gets to you?
