Lately I have been hitting myself in the face out of frustration. I'll feel an irritating sensation in my forehead whenever I think about my failures and I will either punch or knock myself out of anger. I can't make the feeling stop until I hit myself.

I'm sorry you are feeling that way. I had a period of my life when I did that, too. I hope you can find a direction forward that gives you less tension. When things begin to change for you, I think you will have less of this behavior.

Have you given thought of seeing a therapist, if there are any in your area?

I have one but I can't see her again until the 17th.

When you think about your failures realize they are not your own.

Until age 30 humans are highly reliant on others, your parents and those around you have failed you I am sorry.

When you are older you may decide who enters your life, once you have enough wealth.

I sometimes hit the sides of my head with my fists when I'm angry, I'm sure it's not great for my brain...
Is there something less harmful you can replace it with when you feel that way? Like banging your head into a mattress, punching a pillow, stimming, screaming.

I just tried what you were describing on myself for a little bit and man does that hurt a lot.
Yeah, that is too much beating yourself up a lot, when it might be better-directed to a tree or something.
Don't break your fist or wrists on the target though. Put a padded target (pillows) on it if necessary.
Or maybe head-butting the target instead of punching yourself.
May as well «channel» that «energy» of yours into a «healthy» activity (like martial arts) after all.
Who knows... this could be the «blessing in disguise» that you need to start feeling successful at something.
With all of that energy-expenditure you could potentially develop a «hot bod» before you know it for the ladies !
