most so-called "gay" music on your list is only for the younger set.

I'm NOT exactly gay but I'm all over the place with sexuality. I'm probably much more compatible with guys than women sense guys tend to me more consistent straightforward. I might be interested in trying a homosexual relationship if we can take things very slowly & sex won't come up for a while

Well, i have gender dysphoria/gender identity disorder and have always felt a bit wierd about my gender, the last six months its been intensely uneasy with being male. For years i assumed i was straight or even asexual, but that as before the last couple of months, when i've started wondering if i were gay or bisexual after facing some intense gender dysphoria and also talking to some people that were gay or bisexual. I just am not eager to take on labels, so i can't say what i am. ("questioning" describes me well). I've never been in a relationship in RL or slept with anybody, either.

I am gay and an aspie. Yes I don't like the word gay, homosexual too clinical, queer-ruined by act-up back in the early '90s.
being in a relationship I could avoid the label by just mentioning my partner, but now straight folks have usurped that one also. I like same sex attracted, but way too wordy. Gay is a cultural thing also, and I don't have that. I just like guys.

I'm a gay guy too and have no issues with identifying what I like (twinks, mostly). I wish I could have sex also, so if anyone in the UK is interested, could you message me? Thanks!

Maybe some of those - but I wouldn't consider those gay, well some of those musicians are.

Psht. Not all of that is 'gay' music.
How can music choice have anything to do with sexuality.
My boyfriend is a rather alpha-male NT and he loves lots of those mucisians.

I'm going to interpret that list as "gay music is whatever a gay person listens to".

The gay label bothers me a little as well, but not as much as the words used to describe your partner. Partner sounds like it's a business arrangement, boyfriend sounds too casual, husband is--at least in my situation--technically incorrect, lover sounds like just someone you sleep with. I just can't think of a good word.

Ha Ha. I used to be self-employed, and I had mentioned something about my "partner" to one of my clients. A few days later he asked me if my partner ever did any of the work, or was he busy on another job. I had to explain he wasn't my business partner. LOL I am usually so literal and like to be very precise in the words I use, that it bothers me to no end that a better term doesn't exist. Although, when you look at the history of straight marriage, until just very recently, it has always been a business arrangement.

The idea of "gay music" to me is silly. I don't at all identify with any sort of "gay culture" I refuse to change major things about who I am to fit in with any crowd, why would I try to adopt affectations that are not genuine for me. I don't want to be that anymore than I would want to be a redneck, or a hipster. I quit doing that back in high school, and I wasn't any good at it then either.

That is true. In plenty of places, it still is.

I'm the same. If that is genuine for someone, that's fine, but there seem to be a lot of people who play to the stereotypes.

I'm also same-gender attracted and AS. 'Gay' is such a clique-ish culture that I really want no part of. 'Homosexual'... yeah, the clinical term that correctly describes my romantic/sexual want.
I am very anti-social in crowds, which makes any trip to a "gay" club a major waste of money on gas. I am dating a NT guy, who is slowly learning about AS, and has not run for the hills as yet. And, he actually has shown interest in one of my passions... radio!

More later.

Awh. A couple of my best friends in the whole world are gay AS guys. And somehow my boyfriend is best friends with two AS gay guys.

We're like magnets. But of all of us, just my boyfriend and I listen to so called "gay" music.

What a strange life we lead.

I like the Pet shop boys music, always have done. Funnily my best friend used to like them too until I pointed out they were gay - he didn't like them any more after that! Prejudice runs deep in some people.
