Could it have been my reluctance to reveal my relationship?

When I was with my ex I was hesitant to state that he was my boyfriend, due to any awkwardness... and he did seem to become frustrated over time, especially as I was reluctant to also talk about him to my housing officer (mostly due to bureaucratic reasons, but he might have thought it was due to that other reason too, as that was the reason I didn't talk about my relationship to a friend).

I mean, not like I'm normally reserved about this, but somehow I was reluctant to bring it up with a friend of mine for seven years, mostly since I hadn't revealed my sexuality up to then...

To say the least, I regret this, especially if it was a contributory factor to him leaving me... :(

Yeah...you have to tread softly when it comes to housing things. Those people are always on the lookout for violations, and for reasons to kick you out.

Did you try to explain this to your boyfriend? I think that would have helped.

I'm sorry the person left you.
