There's a new album out soon, it apparently has heavy classical influences.
Matt Bellamy has been quite heavily influenced by Rachmaninov in previous albums. That is not really Classical, it's Romantic, but in laymen's language it all falls together with classical music insofar as this type of thing is lumped together with other 'serious' music from bygone years.
In this next album, apparently (or this is what I recall from an article I read about it a few months back), Matt Bellamy wanted to write a full rock concerto (i.e. four movements) and he was struggling with it and wanted to get another composer to help him; but when he realised that it would mean someone else getting part of the credit and the control (and the money, presumably) he decided to just study hard and get down to doing it himself.
I don't know how near to finished he is now.
I have all the regular mainstream Muse albums, plus
Deadstar and
Hullaballoo Soundtrack. I can't find
Showbiz, though, I took the CD out of its case some months ago and I don't know where I put it.
