I've been thinking about introducing this band here... they're my latest passion. The premise is that they're a band of singing robots built in 1896, performing with the assistance of a variety of humans. They glitch sometimes, and don't quite get human behavior, and have sweet harmonies besides... and shut down temporarily at the end of most songs.

Once I'd seen a few videos, I was hooked. I realized I'd felt like a robot for a long time! A couple of the band members are also artists. It's a family friendly act as well, though their personal tumblrs are somewhat less so! Here's some samples, and if you happen to be in the San Diego area or are coming to Comic-Con this week, they're having a mini event, Walter Robotics Expo (supposedly hosted by the descendant of their creator), on Thursday starting at 3pm and going until evening with concerts, Professor Elemental, The League of Steam, and some other sweet stuff. Yeah, I'm plugging 'em... they need it.

The robots:

And a few sweet tunes:

Rabbit malfunctions every time they perform Honeybee live, it's worth looking up! I never get tired of it. Oh, and their Rihanna cover and the Walter Robotics rap were done as jokes, just so we're clear. Though the cover is still pretty good... "The Spine" has a voice like molten chocolate, I swear. They also have a lot of old videos from when they used to perform in Balboa Park. They're pretty good, and very funny, but they've really improved their singing since then.

I love them! I stumbled onto their videos a few months ago. My favorites are probably "Honeybee" and "Brass Goggles." I also liked this one:

LOL! I know they even make that song sound good, but I already know it too well to be able to stand even their version! I've loathed that song since it was new... I do watch it to see The Spine push Upgrade away with his foot, though.
