I find soul songs from the 60s and 70s really good to listen to. The way they poured their thoughts in their lyrics, the vocals, it's all a great combination that makes a good soul song from those eras... here are some soul songs that I like:

I do as well. I like most anything off the Stax label.

This is one of my favorites of all time:

I also like Curtis Mayfield and his band, The Impressions. They were on the Curtom label I think when this was released:



I also like Bobby Womack and Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes.

When that level of songwriting returns the world will be a better place.
