Skip James had a voice that was damned near medicinal.

A minor UK hit for Sandie Shaw in 1969. An interesting trilingual performance here in Spain, there's also an entirely French language version on YouTube. 'Monsieur Dupont' probably sounds more sexy than 'Mr Bridge', I would imagine.

Here's the original English language version from Top of the Pops. Intro by Stuart Henry, who unfortunately looked a bit like Jimmy Saville (fooled me initially).

Very striking performance with Tina Charles as the lead singer. Far more so than those versions with the blond actress Luan Peters in that role. Those are identical from an audio viewpoint though, as Peters was simply miming to Tina's excellent vocals.

This version which was shown on the German TV show 'Musik Laden' is far superior to any other one I've seen, in that it does full justice to the Rebelettes backing group. I have to admit that I'm utterly captivated by the singer who can be seen at around the 0:20mark and also just after 1:20 and 2:20. Can anyone confirm whether that's Darlene Love or not?
