Alison Balsom playing beginning of a Telemann trumpet concerto on "natural" trumpet. Her tone is astonishing!

^ Scriabin's 10th sonata: Such a strange and wonderful piece! It gets extremely dissonant in places, but the result feels ecstatic rather than aggressive.

A quiet piece by the Other Mendelssohn....

^ Very nice!

I wanted to work my way through Scriabin’s sonatas in an attempt to understand him better. I’m not sure if that was a success, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless. There’s much of the sublime in his work.

I watched the ballet Manon yesterday, so now this piece is in my head.

Good luck getting that trio theme out of your head! (Josef Suk – Fantastické scherzo)
