For a bunch of people who hate lady gaga, this thread just proves that hate and dislike is great for publicity. We are at 6 pages folks.

lol @ 50 pence. I laughed out loud.

Your right why give someone such mileage? If we really hate her the greatest spit in the face to her is the silent treatment. That is her equivalent of being wronged. Love to see her wind up like Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard, don't know if anyone is interested in nostalgia like I am.

Thankfully your being facetious, someone with poor social cues would not be able to amount such a large following. I have asperger's and they have defied adversity and gone on to do exceptional things but someone who is supposedly sinless does not have aspergers, I've had my moments. By the way just to clear things up I think it is beyond ridiculous to say Lady Ga-Ga is comparable to Jesus maybe atheists would perpetuate this idea but the rest 90%of the world that believe in some form of God would beg to differ.

 I wouldn't compare her to Jesus, I was just naming off random famous people in an effort to make light of the whole 'n famous person has AS!' trend that seems to come and go 'round these parts

There are actually sadistic individuals who will have the audacity to say that Lady Gaga is a god-like figure. I frequent other forums and there are certain individuals that are believe it or not that stupid. Atheism seems to be the new cliche among deviants.

But surely it's the OP's freedom of expression to bash who s/he wants?

If someone believes that Lady Gaga is a god, then they wouldn't really be an atheist anymore. >_>

Sorry it may not be affiliated with Atheism but from my experience there are people that I have seen on list-serves who have the nerve to put Lady Gaga ahead of everything else. What makes her more relevant than anything else, how can she help society progress? These a questions to ask many of these cult-followers luckily none of them frequent here.

I really like her and I enjoy her music.

I actually think most of the stage act and the 'brand' is due to shyness more than, 'I'm gonna make a tonne of money from this stuff!' (though she does do that) - she seems like a little kid playing make-believe and dress up, but with adult themes

She's using her fame to spread awareness about LGBTQ rights, so that's something.

There are definitely people that have used there fame to accomplish more. Walt Disney helped with the American Space Program. Bono fought to prevent third world countries from having the average life-expectancy in their teens because they inherited dieseases that prevented them from getting past their 18th birthday. Lady Gaga can't really be taken seriously especially when she wears meat but claims to be a vegetarian, though also encourages abstinence and then there's rumors about her being affiliated with orgy's shes a hypocrite. I know that political views are different than lifestyle but I can't take her seriously when she fails on two vital issues.

The woman behind the "Lady Gaga" image is definately real; it is the image that is a put-on.

No one would pay attention to her if she were only known by her real name - Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta.

What's the story with her dad, again? I could have sworn that he was a person of some affluence in NYC. All I can find now is about her grandfather. Her wiki page has changed a bit over the years since her fame has grown.

Her parents are in telecommunications/Internet.

 Well I'm :( to say it, but yeah I can't stand her. Ugh yuck her music is just plain out there. I listen to Ladyhawke instead and I'm from America, not New Zealand. :D

Ladyhawke is an aspie.

Since the term "shock rock" is used to describe the performance style of hard rock/heavy metal artists such as Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson (who I think are similar because they are both heavy metal singers, they are both men who use a woman's stage name, and their stage names are also the names of the respective bands they perform with), Lady Gaga should be referred to as "shock pop" because even though her music is pretty normal (for some reason I actually don't hate it as much as the music of many other modern pop musicians), her stage performances are CRAZY!! !! and it always seems to be a matter of which shock value act she's gonna pull next.
