I'm impressed you can listen to anything while racing. a) It's a distraction. b) Wouldn't it mostly get drowned out under the engine, gearbox, etc noises?

It was mostly in the background playing kind of mid volume and the engine noises weren't too loud as I recall. They balanced it out pretty well I thought for the most part. Mostly the engine noises were loud at the beginning before the green light. Sometimes it would get slightly distracting but I was able to hyperfocus through it. During the license tests you had to do it could be a little distracting and that's when I would get the most irritated trying to qualify for some of them

I haven't played it in a long time since but if I played it today I probably would get distracted.

Ah, I'm used to having the engine and other car noises fairly loud so music just gets lost in the background. If they're not loud enough it's harder to remember to upshift.

I also hyperfocus while racing, which also kinda makes music redundant anyways since I don't have enough processing cycles left to even notice it.

First time I saw this video, January 1995. Kinda freaked me out. 16 stone is a really good album

Bush was my favorite band for a while when I was a kid…even though I had no idea what their songs were about.

I've got an electric guitar
I play my stupid songs
I write these stupid words
And I love every one

Content Warning: explicit lyrics

Considering the a**hole who’s running the country, it seems even more relevant in 2025 than it was in 1993.
