Aimee Mann - Today's the Day

I feel like this song will stay in rotation in my head until I come to some kind of conclusion about it, which will probably be never.

What's the point of this thread?
There are thousands of posts and nobody ever responds to anyone else's post.
I doubt people even read it.

Nilsson: Gotta Get Up, cause I just woke up. Duh.

which is just a stepping stone to
Nilsson: Jump Into the Fire

from the same album, Nilsson Schmilsson.
Jump Into the Fire is one of my favorite "get off my butt and do stuff" songs

love the bass and drums in this song! the bass player, herbie flowers, did the bass on Lou Reed's Walk on the Wild Side and a bunch of other stuff. Jim Gordon, the drummer, was a schizophrenic who played with the Byrds, Derek & the Dominoes, Beach Boys (Pet Sounds), oh and he also played on "Classical Gas,"

Which some of the older American folks will recognize bits of ... they used to play it on the radio to fill up time for the news segments every hour (at least where I lived.) ... so, if they had 3:45 minutes of news, they'd run 1:15 of Classical Gas first. I don't think I ever heard the full song until the 90s.

This guy is blowing up in underground hip hop scene right now. Deservedly, he makes some truly inspiring music.
I'm glad to say I've been following him since early last year. I liked his voice and flow, but he surprised me with his two past releases.
A big departure from his old stuff. I'm happy for him that he's getting recognition. The midwest needs more.

I read it. And others do too. But if you want to create your own music thread with a particular theme then go for it. :)

@artrat: you're right its difficult to know what the songs mean to the posters, but I guess with a little fantasy you can imagine and thats the fun, right? And finally maybe what it means to YOU could be a point? E.g. this one. Please just take it as it is

I read it. That's usually literally all I do cause my computer doesn't let me hear anything but if I have a chance to use another computer I listen.
