Finished Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, ho-hum, could've done with some heavy editing in places and it was a bit too grim for my taste but a decent read. The clash of views between the lead characters was interesting. Might get the others.
Read HP and the Chamber of Secrets. Will reread the rest of the series but may divert onto Rule 34 and Parrot and Olivier in America which just arrived chez moi.

about 200 or so pages into George R.R. Martins "A Dance With Dragons". So Far So good. Less actioney so far compared to the previous books, but only time will tell.

Nice one, I'm reading BNW at the moment as well. Can't believe its taken me so long to read - one of those books I kept thinking 'I'll read that one later'.

I actually want to finish reading Of Mice & Men because it's shorter
and the copy of Brave New World I own also has
Brave New World Revisited in it.

The public library system of Portland has a summer reading game
where people over 18 who participate must read at least 4 books
by the end of August. There's also a summer reading game for kids.

Prizes for those who finish are either one of two e-book readers
or tickets {for two} to all the 2011-2012 lectures by visiting artists who come to
Portland to speak.

I always recommend Androids to people who’ve never read Dick, and they always seem to enjoy it. I know from experience that recommending a better but less accessible novel like A Scanner Darkly just results in confusion.

You just have to do some research, read plot summaries, and choose whatever sounds most appealing. Everyone has their favorites.

Right now my favorite book is a tie between the The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams and Regenesis by C. J. Cherryh

I meant if you're getting into Philip K. Dick. The favorites of most fans and critics seem to be Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, The Man in the High Castle, The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, Ubik, and A Scanner Darkly. I would recommend any of them, but Androids seems to be the most accessible.
