all of those pop punk bands are great! :D

i get some s**t for liking simple plan but i swear their songs were written for/about me

specifically the song "welcome to my life" The first time i heard that song was the summer of 06 and i had a mental breakdown on my brithday after having a really sh***y day at the job i had and then having a discussion on the phone with my parents and either right before or right after that during that summer i heard the song and i swore i could have written it myself. Ironically the first song of theirs i heard was "untitled (how could this happen to me?)" which is also one of my favorites by them. Incidently the Trans Am i own is the same year as the one that gets totalled in that video only mine is black and that one was silver. I almost bought a silver one before i bought mine.. this was in the spring of 04 before that song was even released i think. My ringtone on my phone is Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"

i actually captured the screen shots of the T/A from the video once, lol.

I get the same from people sometimes. They hear simple plan and laugh, and same with other bands. Personally I think their songs are good and they helped me through a tough time as well as added a soundtrack to some great times in my life. :)

I was hoping to finally see them this year (I started really attending concerts/shows just after Simple Plan kinda faded out...) because I did see that they were scheduled to play a music festival, but they removed their name from it now for whatever reason I don't know.

I don't think they have been back in the US for a concert since that chicago one got cancelled. they were on kimmel i think right after that happened though. I saw a video blog somewhere recently where they said they'd be doing a tour in the US for the next album.

Are they working on an album currently?

I like a wide variety of music. Currently on my playlist:
Oomph! (neue deutsche härte)
Murray Gold & Ben Foster (Doctor Who & Torchwood soundtracks)
John Barrowman (showtunes)
Basshunter (dance)
Michael Buble (big band)
Josh Groban (classical/pop)
Clint Mansell (Moon and The Fountain soundtracks)
Jason Mraz (pop rock)
Antony and the Johnsons (I don't know how I'd describe it. Chamber pop according to wikipedia)
Symphony of Science (...science?)
Repo! The Genetic Opera (genetic opera  )
Howard Shore (LOTR soundtracks)
Hugh Laurie (sketch comedy)

I don't like very many female singers because their voices go up too high and my ears prefer a lower register. It really depends on the singer and the music though. I also don't like most country music.
