It is possible to live in complete ignorance of teeny pop culture! All it takes is to ignore it.

I didn't know who Taylor Swift was till I saw some story in the paper about how some rapper had disrupted her acceptance speech at an awards ceremony.

I don't know what her music's like, but she's nice to look at.

Yeah, I've suffered through that CD. It's only got like 7 songs on it, which I characterize as
Mylie Cyrus trying to sound like the Red hot Chili Peppers (Party in the USA)
Mylie Cyrus trying to sound like Garbage (one of the other ones)
Mylie Cyrus trying to sound like Coldplay...;)

you get the idea...;)

I've never heard any of Taylor Swift's body of work; I would suspect that it's just as devoid of musical talent as Miley Cyrus.

How do these people get recording contracts?? Is having no talent whatsoever a requirement for getting these? I'm guessing the answer is "yes."

I have heard "Party in the USA" a few times while riding in a taxi. One of the worst songs in all of music.

I'm partial to some of Taylor Swift's songs. I dont get all the hate on her. It's unfounded, especially considering some of the people criticising her haven't even heard any of her music. Some people will just hate on anything not within their narrow view of what constitutes art or entertainment.

I don't know who Taylor Swift is and I know that in US all looks other. I don't even have TV and don't read gossips about stars. But sometimes I watch Hannah Montana as kind of stupid cartoon and I have fun
I have notebook with HM together with Hello Kitty, Witch etc. As a contrast element to TotalitArt and Industri :D

I like Taylor Swift, but she's played so often on the radio that I get tired of her songs quickly.
I really don't like Miley Cyrus though, very fake seeming to me and I don't think she has much talent. At least Taylor sings within her talent's means, Miley thinks she has really good vocals but doesn't.

Luckily since my neice has gotten older and grown out of them, I never have to hear about Hannah Montana anymore and I only see her once in a blue moon. My other neice is three and isn't even aware of Hannah Montana's existiance. She's more into cats and animals right now. Ever since my oldest neice grew out of Hannah Montana, I never give the Hannah Montana themed things in stores a secound glance. The neighbor girl who is actualy like a little sister or best friend to me was so tolerant of my special intrests (that girl is a saint) I only heard about Hannah Montana or High School Musical once in a blue moon. She was really more into the arts and literature more than anything.

I think my neice only mintioned Taylor Swift once so I'm not even famaliar with her. I'm not really that aware of of what today's kids are into anymore.

i want to say that miley is the best singer ever for me, i think taylor is good but she is not my favorite and sometimes i don't really like her music and i want that jonas brother come to my country colombia or maybe meet miley in any place in USA and i adore party in the usa thank you. i want to be clear MILEY CYRUS IS THE BEST SINGER THE WORLD HAD EVER HAVE and taylor is only a good singer that likes pop and country music.

Back in my day, Hilary Duff and Raven-Symone were our teen icons. As for Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, I really don't have much of an opinion toward them. I neither like them nor dislike them. I've gotten to the point where I've outgrown anything Disney Channel churns out.

yeah, i remember that one, although that started during my.... jr or sr year of HS....

during 6-10th grade for me, i really wouldnt remember, and that was from like 1999 - 2004 or something like that. Im def thinking amanda bynes (yeah, I will admit i had a crush on her, and I still think she is cute.) Yeah, i miss the good old days of nickelodeon, especially shows like keenan and kel and all that.

Well, if Miley's last name wasn't Cyrus (as in, if she wasn't related to Billy Ray Cyrus), I seriously doubt that anyone would know or care about who she is.

Taylor Swift is a bit of a different story. Her songs are trite and sappy, yes, but at least she writes her own music...

i don't listen to anything of that genre, really, I've never even listened to their songs. I don't listen to the radio or watch alot of TV, so I just generally don't know either of them.
