BT's early albums, especially ESCM, are unbelievable. The man has undeniable talent as a producer, though I question the direction he's headed in his last couple of albums. But many of his tracks are fantastic - Flaming June, Remember, Mercury and Solace, Running Down the Way Up, Dreaming, Godspeed, Content, Blue Skies, Sunblind, even Somnambulist (though I think he ventures too much into Backstreet Boys territory on that one...) the list goes on and on...

As for Flaming June, I think its got to be one of the top two "dream" trance or "piano" trance songs ever, along with Robert Miles's "Children".

I also really like this unofficial remix, by one of my favorite up and coming artists, Phrakture.

I like that mix, especially where it kicks off at about 3mins in. I'm never too sure about the strange breakbeat element though, which seems to come in in BT's tracks a bit.

I very much like the glitch/stutter effect that Phrakture does around 3:45 and one or two other times in the track.

As for breakbeats, some of the best electronica I've heard is breaks and its a good change of pace. Sometimes 4/4 gets a little old.

This mix here by Digital Witchcraft has some slower breaks in it - its a bit old now I can't believe it was done in 2003 but its one of my all time favorite sets.

Hadn't heard of them before. I'm downloading the mix now, will give it a try. The Twirl tune on Youtube is very nice but could probably not take a whole album of it.

I think Digital Witchcraft's two best are:

Snowday

and Kaylee's Blanket

ESCM is great, with a couple of exceptions. Firewater is another track that's just amazing, probably the best one after Flaming June.

Agree, Firewater is an amazing tune too. Really the whole album (except maybe Love, Peace and Grease) are fantastic. Remember is my #1 or #2 favorite song all time, by anyone, ever. Lullaby for Gaia too is off the charts good.

There were a few songs on that album which I did not care for: Love Peace and Grease being the worst of it. Tracks 2 and 6 I recall weren't all that great either, been a while since I've listened to the whole album through so I can't remember the names.

Good recommendation on the Digital Witchcraft by the way. The first 2 minutes were a bit shaky and I almost turned it off but it turns out really great.

Yeah, it starts out a little slowly but builds up a nice vibe pretty quick.

Another set I like in that same vein is Roger Del Pino's "Separation of the Fours" mix. I don't know of any currently working link to it, however, but if you want it PM me and I can hook you up.

I checked out Separation of the Fours (thanks ScrewyWabbit) and I like the first track especially, will try to give it another shot soon as I started listening at 12:30pm last night and really didn't have the time.

Good recommendation coming up. Just listened to Above and Beyond - Tri-State which is an incredible album. I've got the lossless version which is amazing. Anyway some good aspie music. :P  :o

I like 'psychedelic trance' music (Shpongle, Astral Projection, Hallucinogen, 1200 Micrograms, Infected Mushroom).

Used to listen to Astral Projection. I have other psy stuff like Amethystium, carbon based lifeforms and juno reactor, but more into trance of ambient trance.

Trance that uses the same old supersaw and "plucked" chords have worn out on me big time. However Dumonde makes some good stuff.

I love this remix.

For my electronica, ambient, shoe-gazer, and trance music I go here: http://www.ultimathule.info/listen.html
And I down loaded at least 140 pod-casts from them.
Every Saturday night I get 11 hours of Echoes on my local public radio station..... http://www.echoes.org/
