I do that a lot but with bands instead of songs. I get so into The Kinks that I constantly need to remind myself that I have CDs of other bands and artists.

Yes, every time it is a new song, but I can listen to it over 20 times if it really explains my situation/the day well.

I might listen to a song I like 40+ times in a day, and hundreds of times in a weeks span, when researching specific genres was my main obsession/special interest. I don't do as much now, but can if I stumble across those songs again and it 'clicks' with me....

I have to have all my music correctly tagged too, with the correct year, artist name, genre, composer, album and I need it all to be in the correct playlists and in alphabetical order. I also need album art to go with it.
I am completely obsessed with music and having it in the correct order, otherwise I can't listen to it.

I still can't get over how cool it is to feel normal, I love WP :D

This is ALWAYS how I listen to music. I have to have it organized perfectly, in two formats, keep all the cd cases (even if I collect them together in a big case, in which they are alphabetized)... and I always make playlists, so I know where everything is, and repeat songs over and over. My most recent one was Steeleye Span's "Bonnie Moorhen" which I listened to while pacing for two and a half hours. I have the names and orders of all the tracks on all my cds memorized.

My friends at school think this is really weird. And they listen to anything, new or whatever genre, on SHUFFLE on iPods. I told them that was like eating hamburger icecream or something like that and they said "You're such a librarian." I don't know whether to be insulted or complimented :D

I don't tend to listen to the same song consecutively before listening to something else; I prefer to listen to albums in their entirety.

I do listen to music to a somewhat obsessive degree however. I love the music website last.fm, as it collates all the data from my listening habits into multiple listings, such as top artist, album of the week, and lists every song I've ever listened to at what date and time since I first joined in 2008.

yes, these progressive trance tunes have me hooked. I must listen to all three a hundred times in the last week alone. They are beautifully harmonizing chord progressions you do not hear anyone use in pop music, which I love!

listen to them in 720p for amazing quality

My brother is madly obsessed with The Strokes, ALO, Young The Giant, and Vampire Weekend, and so am I to an extant but I'm still a progressive trance and progressive house guy.

Although I listen to practically every genre (except bubblegum pop, really slow R&B, country, etc.) I am hooked onto a few tracks, which I've got on my phone since as long as I can remember. I used to listen to Rammstein's Reise Reise almost everyday during university, just to get by. While driving, I usually put on progressive house or a few oddball tracks with a good groove like Hugo - Bread & Butter or Tame Impala - Half Full Glass of Wine.

My sister, like your brother, is madly obsessed with the Strokes, Vampire Weekend, and other indie bands. Oh, and Blur.

Definitely! I listen to certain songs over and over again, to the great frustration of my direct surroundings. Sometimes it's because I just like the song as a whole, sometimes to hear a certain snippet of a lyric or a solo, sometimes to zone out to a certain riff. Big repeaters so far have been Something Corporate's 'Konstantine', Pendulum's cover of The Prodigy's 'Voodoo People' and Hollywood Undead's 'Comin' In Hot'. I wish I could explain how I get stuck into songs, but I can't. Glad to hear I'm not the only one, though, my NT friends don't understand having a song on repeat for a week :P

Yes, all the time.

Right now I'm listening to the pixies "Where is my mind" over and over.
