Good taste in music LexingtonDeville. The background for Isolation Years gives the song a dark atmosphere. What do you think of my songs?

It's kind of funny you mentioned something from Sigh No More, Titangeek. I've been going through a rough patch lately and have been obsessively listening to "Roll Away Your Stone" and "The Cave" over and over again because they've really been picking me up. Songs from that album really run the gamut.

"For the Love of a Daughter" by Demi Lovato. I'd post it but there are no unpitched versions on Youtube and I cannot abide pitching.

I got drunk the first time I heard this song and just started sobbing out loud. Humor me and go find a Mediafire link or something. It takes a lot for me to feel things deeply, but this is one of those things.

Lyrics:

Four years old with my back to the door
All I could hear was the family war
Your selfish hands always expecting more
Am I your child, or just a charity ward?

You have a hollowed-out heart
But it's heavy in your chest
I try so hard to fight it
But it's hopeless, hopeless
You're hopeless

Oh, father
Please, father
I'd love to leave you alone
But I can't let you go
Oh, father
Please, father
Put the bottle down
For the love of a daughter

It's been five years since we've spoken last
And you can't take back what we never had
Oh, I can be manipulated only so many times
Before even "I love you"
Starts to sound like a lie

You have a hollowed-out heart
But it's heavy in your chest
I try so hard to fight it
But it's hopeless, hopeless
You're hopeless

Oh, father
Please, father
I'd love to leave you alone
But I can't let you go
Oh, father
Please, father
Put the bottle down
For the love of a daughter

Don't you remember I'm your baby girl?
How could you push me out of your world?
Lied to your flesh and your blood
Put your hands on the ones that you swore you love
Don't you remember I'm your baby girl?
How could you throw me right out of your world?
So young when the pain had begun
Now forever afraid of being alone

Oh, father
Please, father
I'd love to leave you alone
But I can't let you go
Oh, father
Please, father
Oh, father
Please, father
Put the bottle down
For the love of a daughter
For the love of a daughter

It was also in "Coming Home," the Jon Voight movie. The scene it was used in made me cry my ass off! The lyrics to this song are gorgeous.

"Were You At The Rock." Less about the meaning and more about the melody. This is a sean nos version and not the easiest introductory listening if you're not into Scots-Irish-bluegrass stuff. North Cregg also does a lovely version that does not appear to be on Youtube. It is on Grooveshark and I highly recommend.

"Sweet Comeraghs." It's a song about being homesick for mountains, which I always am.

I don't really need to explain this one.
