Do any aspie writers have this problem?
to the OP, and to all writers, starting from the end works magic. Know your characters and have an idea what their problem is, what do they struggle with....think about what you think they would need to over come that struggle, what event and what lesson should they learn.
then realize that you know the answer, but your character doesn't. You hero is gonna always make the wrong choices and want the wrong things, which is where your story comes in. The story is gonna be how your hero changed, and finally learned whatever it is he or she needed to learn.
Your whole life you were an A hole rebel who hated authority and valued partying over responsibility. You end up joining the Army, but for the wrong reasons. You need a job and you think it's gonna get you laid. But once you get in, it's hell, and you want to quit, but you can't so you stick it out. You learn a little about yourself and life, and gain some respect for authority, but you still do things your way, you just now do them within the structure of the Army. You learned self respect. That's basically the movie Stripes.....
Hope that helps, although I think I might have rambled......
