Now I saw them in the 80s when I was young and good looking, in a small club, now I dont know if Pete Shelley is that way inclined, but Iam male, and I got the distinct impression he fancied me as he kept looking at me for a long time and quite frequently.

He swings both ways. Some of his solo stuff sounds like gay club music (with better lyrics). I think it actually influenced gay club music.

I have a weird taste in music for someone my age.
