Thank you guys!
@B9, regarding tempo, I am always careful to ensure the words and syllables do fit when I write poetry and it isn't 'shoehorned in'. As you may realise, poetry comes in many forms and with many tempos and rhythms, I don't personally believe it's difficult to get into the rhythm of this one, and so far you are the only person that has commented about the tempo. You are still talking about real glasses, as I said, it was metaphorical, it has nothing to do with whether people are actually wearing glasses or not. If I don't understand what someone has posted I don't reply to it or I just state that I didn't understand what they mean (as I did with you) to give the person a chance to elucidate. If you wanted to say that you couldn't identify with the poem, all you had to say was "I don't feel that way about being on the spectrum" or "I don't understand your meaning so I can't say if I identify or not". The way you replied was like you were being sarcastic or ridiculing and I just didn't understand why you did it.

it is very much easier for the author of a poem to understand the tempo than it is for those who merely read the words. if i heard your poem recited, i would no doubt understand the tempo, but left to my own devices, i can not cobble it all together even in a syncopated way.
metaphors usually have a meaning that is somewhat parallel (notionally) to what they are trying to describe.
if the word "glasses" is entirely redundant, then i do not understand it's role in the line it is contained in.
i usually do not reply to what i do not understand, but considering that this was(is) a poem, i tried to understand it and failed. i posted what i had gleaned from it, and i consider that if you are to provide an explanation as to it's meaning, then knowing my initial impression of it would be beneficial to the formulation of your explanation.
i am never sarcastic (as far as i can remember).
my incapacity to comprehend what you wrote does not inspire me to ridicule it. i can not ridicule what i do not understand. i do not ridicule anything even if i do understand it. what is the point?
anyway, back to the "tempo" situation. here are the lyrics to a song (a song is a musical poem) which i would be surprised if you could rhythmically interpret from just reading the words.
__________________________________________________________
I really strongly and vehemently wish
That I could write songs that had less lyrics in them
But every time I sit down and try to write a song my head starts to overflow, I've got so very many things that I wanna say.
It becomes extremely difficult in terms of scansion and rhythm to fit a musical framework around so many words
And every other songwriter I have met in this industry says that my over wordy songs are utterly and totally absurd
I am a prolix songwriter; I have a very hard time
Fitting such an extraordinarily and unnecessarily large number of syllables into the highly limited confides of a line
I'll be honest with you I've been writing these over stuffed lyrics since I was 14 or 15 years old, it's been really tough on me
Means that I have to work 7 or 8 or 9 times as hard as any other songwriter to earn exactly the same god damn royalty fee
And I know that I'm probably being an idiot and it has something to do with my anxiety and I'm totally confused and I really don't know
And all I can do is sit here and wish to the heavens that I could simply go
La la la la
La la la la la
Like Kylie Minogue
But I am a prolix songwriter; I have a very hard time
Fitting such an extraordinarily and unnecessarily large number of syllables into the highly limited confides of a line
I am a prolix songwriter; I have a very hard time
Cause sometimes my velocity is so over the top that I have to try my absolute utmost and squeeze me eyes shut and think way way way back in to the past as far as I possibly can if I can even hope to remember the word with which I was supposed to .......... Rhyme.

Encore.
i did not write it.
considering that you have posted a reply, i will now post the song (i did not want to include the song in my previous post because people may listen to the song first, and then read the lyrics after they listened to the song, and they would have thought that it obvious how the lyrics are to be read.
