Yes I do, sometimes. Usually it's something that matches the theme or setting of whatever I'm drawing. For instance, I may have tribal jungle music playing when drawing dinosaurs, traditional African music for my Egyptian and other African characters, or Celtic music for the odd Nordic barbarian.

Often, but only things without lyrics, preferably classical, with a full symphony orchestra. There's something about the richness of the sound that helps with basically everything I do.

Yes.

But it's not just music, but noise. I don't like it quiet. I have something going making noise, whether it's music, or just my sound machine.

I have the largest collection I know of and listen to a lot of random stuff. Adding the Time Stamps up, I have enough music to last half of a year if played continuously. This doesn't include all the chiptune formats that don't have a time stamp and I think would just play in an endless loop.

I use music to get my energy level up in order to work on my writing. It's like the music serves as a motivator. I often get more ideas while I listen to music. The Alice Cooper version of the song "Because" is a perfect motivator for a nonfiction work I'm beginning about a haunted house.

Not only do I not like it quiet, I also tend to think negative things I rather wouldn't. I use sound to drown out unwanted thoughts. Then I build playlists of music that is themed around whatever it is I'm trying to do in order to not drown out what I'm trying to do.

Dhawal: Have you thought of using white noise over external sound cancelling head phones whenever possible to drown out other noise? I don't know how you'd feel about white noise, but I've found that it's useful for me on occasion when I have it turned up so I actually register it.

I do listen to music while writing things. It helps me get my thoughts together and write dialogue since I suck at it.
