I just published my first novel. It's a sci fi allegory about Aspies, NT and the tyranny of religion run amok. It's 210 pages and there are two sequels coming. Here's my method.

1. Get a well rounded degree from a top tier university by the age of 23.

2. Spend your twenties having crazy experiences as well as meeting and spending time with individuals society shuns.

3. While completing step two, use as many natural psychedelic drugs as possible.

4. Stop step two at 30.

5. Spend age 30-33, 34 or 35 sober so you may synthesize your experiences.

6. Draw a chart outlining your book on a huge white board.

7. Write everyday for at least three hours, preferably more. Use cannabis while doing so and only while doing so. Edit sober.

8. Don't have children or get married until you're older (at least 30). Dragging a child and a spouse through this process isn't fair.

I spent about seven hours yesterday on edit/rewrite which is where I'm at on the part of the project I'm working on. Stopped when I realized it was after midnight and I had to be to work in the morning.

Don't be afraid to do this if you're on a roll, but don't burn yourself out doing this.
