Every time I see this topic's title in the new forum messages I think something like ''why would you?'' (I'm completely into different kinds of music myself) Do some people shame you for it?

Yes, but I prefer to treat crude preconceptions and socially mandated musical aversions with the contempt they deserve, and listen to whatever music makes me high. Treating music as a cosmetic only hurts the people who take that attitude because they miss out on a lot of great stuff 8).
