His music is great. His voice is weird as hell, which makes it nice to listen to.

Can't believe I've only just noticed this thread! I LOVE Craig Nicholls! Starbuline knows this as we've PM'd about him quite a bit :) Yeah I can't imagine him using the internet really.

Great photos, he's such a doll! I've seen that interview on YouTube. You could tell how frustrated he'd get in those interviews, because he couldn't explain his music in a way that anyone else could understand. He does awesome things with his voice. I love how he explodes the word "feel" in Animal Machine. I read an interview with the producer of Vision Valley, and he said that Craig would record songs over and over because he couldn't stand to hear hard consonant sounds like f, p, t, etc. I would love to talk about AS and music with him, over Big Macs and Coke!!

Yes I completely understand what he went through with people constantly asking to explain his work! I've been in a very similar situation, when I did my degree (in an art subject). I just thought 'For god's sake why can't what I've made speak for itself?'
Just PM'd you by the way ;)

I don't see how anyone can hold him in such esteem when he only started waving the Asperger's banner as a last resort in his court case.

You obviously don't know the story.

Ok, Benway! I can understand your point. To be honest, the bottom line is that we aspie girls have a bit of a crush on Craiggers, so maybe we're not quite as objective about his behavior as you might be!! Seriously, he was diagnosed after he attacked a photographer. He had no idea what was wrong with him, nor did anyone else.

Autumn_shade was the CN fan I used to talk to. I've just remembered.

Yes, I've talked to her too but she's not on here very often. She met Craig recently and apparently he's the sweetest bloke alive! :D

I am so happy that Craig Nicholls of the Vines is now feeling well enough to do some touring in Australia! I know many folks dislike him for musical and personal reasons, but I'm really thrilled to see him well and confident enough after his 2004 Asperger diagnosis to try touring and putting himself out there again. He went through such a horrible time with the press prior to being diagnosed, and he's brought himself back from the edge! I think he's a beautiful and talented man who loves his music enough to keep making it, even when so many people have cut him to ribbons and counted him out, not only as a musician but as a person. He truly inspires me; I really want to see him succeed!

hello there!
I am a HUGE Craig Nicholls fan, as you can probably tell from my username. :D I love him. He and his band are one of my main obsessions. It makes me so happy that hes doing well enough to play regular shows. For a band that everyone thought was gonna break up 2 years ago, its amazing. In fact I'm seeing them live next week! I can't wait.

I was lucky enough to meet him last year when they played in Melbourne, and he's the most lovely person I've ever met. So modest and sweet. My love for him actually doubled after meeting him (if thats possible) Reading about him and his experiences before and after diagnosis made me actually feel positive about Aspergers for the first time ever and helped me to come out of the depression that had been plagueing me since my aspergers diagnosis.

He is my biggest inspiration to write my own music and poetry. He made me think that if he was able to make it in the music industry, maybe I can too. He's just an amazing artist, totally pure and focused on his music and getting better at it.

If anyone here is interested in talking about the beautiful man and musician that is Craig Nicholls, please pm me :)

Sorry for rambling a bit.
