Lisa Gerrard of Dead Can Dance is probably my favorite. I had the opportunity to see her sing live on their recent reunion tour and she was amazing. She almost seems like an otherworldly, celestial being.

I also like Jarboe from The Swans and her various other projects.

I like a lot of the female singers in Nordic traditional folk projects like Gjallarhorn, Garmana, and Loituma.
