Song your parents listened to when you were a kid

Interesting song. "Arizona" is a metaphor for dreams, and promises unfulfilled.

Reminds of "if that's not lovin me...then all I gotta say ... is God didn't make little green apples, and it don't rain in Indianapolis in the summertime..." a pop song common in the late Sixties on radio...that my own parents also listened to. :)

My parents also liked to watch a lot of sitcoms growing up. Guess what I had for breakfast this morning? (The former, not the latter)

My parents listened to a lot of the Carpenters (especially my mom), Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, and the Newsboys when I was really little. Later they started listening to tapes (cassettes) in the car which is where some of my fondest music related memories come from. That was when they listened to mostly Keith Green (my all-time favorite), Rich Mullins, Phil Keaggy, Amy Grant, DC Talk, Enya, and others, but mainly those. I miss those days.

/insert the entire 70's rock catalogue from Pink Floyd to Black Sabbath mixed with some new wave kinda stuff and early 80s pop.

My parents weren't the best parents in the world but I'm grateful they exposed me to some great music as a kid.

Yes. Thats the song.

Though its another, non duet version by a male singer that I remember hearing.

That version is new to me, even though its obviously also from the same late sixties era.
