I started playing classical guitar when I was 10 (about 7 years ago) and played for a few years, got my grade 4 certificate and then got sick of all the theory and quit the lessons. Now I play electric guitar and own 5 guitars; classical guitar, electro-acoustic Ibanez, red Ibanez JS100, custom Peavey Wolfgang which I won in a competition about 6 years ago and a second-hand Fender Stratocaster rip-off which cost £50 and is incidentally my favourite guitar to play.

I have a lefty Alvarez acoustic which I don't play anymore, and an electric Washburn lefty. I used to have a Dean 7-string right-handed, which drove me crazy because of the floyd rose!! That, and a Peavy Raptor X right-handed, which I sold. My main guitar right now is my Ibanez Prestige righty. I love it, it sounds great! Looks a lot like Andy Timmons' guitar :)

I'm left-handed but play righty.

I have a Squier Strat.

And for a bass I've just bought a Warwick Streamer. I love it

Been playing since '71. I play what feels normal, but righties have informed me is actually backwards and upside down..;)

Have a Yamaha 6 string, Epiphone 12 string, and Epiphone bass (4 string), Pro Aria 2 Electric. had a mandolin, but had to sell it. Have a Peavey Centurian Bass head, need to find a good cabinet for it. Hae an itty bitty Peavey guitar amp (had a Deuce, but sold that as well). That takes care of the guitar stuff, anyways..;)

I've been playing the guitar since I was 15.
I only ever play to an audience when I am (and everyone else is) stoned. Although I do take my playing serious when I'm alone.

I've been playing for 19 years. I started out playing metal, then I played and sang in a punk band.

The past seven years have been dedicated to learning classical, and I play in a small ensemble. I have two classical guitars (one made by Jose Ramirez, the other a Cordoba I bought at Guitar Center) and an electric/classical: the Yamaha "Silent" classical.

I love music from the renaissance and baroque eras, and as a result, I want to get my hands on a lute.

Does anybody have lute experience?

I love seeing what kinds of guitars and amps everyone uses or prefers! Guitars are one of my obsessions.

I don't know if anyone cares, but I'll go ahead and add that I have 2 Peavey amps (because they're cheap), but I use my boyfriend's Marshall amps (because they're better). I also use a Boss DS1 Distortion pedal.

I've been playing for about two years. I'm not all that good. I prefer piano, which I'm not much better at.

I have a dark brown Alvarez acoustic that I love and an antique white (yuck...) Austin electric that I don't love. I also have an old Harmony acoustic that I got from my uncle which is in really bad shape. I've been playing the Alvarez mostly. That's partially because the high E on the electric is busted and I haven't taken the time to get new strings.

I don't really know much about guitars. I just like to play 'em.

I've been playing since I was 14. I'm 21 now. I'll try and learn anything that sounds good. I don't want to stick with just one style/genre although I'm most comfortable playing rock and metal.

I've got 2 electrics (replica strat and replica les paul), 2 electric acoustics (ibanez and Onyx) and a nylon acoustic (Yamaha). I use a Metal Zone MT2, a Crybaby wah and a Marshall Valvestate VS65.

I picked up playing the guitar back in my school years. My dad played too, and we had quite some fun playing together. Although I still have my classical acoustic guitar (of obscure east-german manufacture), i play it only *very* rarely these days...

But I'm not going to blow the gig for her. If she wants to say something, she's easily capable of it.
No, don't ask, 'cause I'll never tell.

Also a cheap mandolin.

No-name classical guitar (recently purchased for $39)
Epiphone PR-650 Acoustic guitar
Washburn X10 Electric guitar
Peavey Patriot Bass guitar

Cheap 5-string banjo (I play old-timey, frailing style)

Mid-Missouri Mandolin (play this because it's the same fingerings as a fiddle)

My first guitar I got when I was 12 or so. Parents bought it with a book of songs.
I didn't know how to tune it or play it, just copied the chord diagrams.
I had the strings wound up pretty tight i suppose because one night the bridge popped... scared the s**t out of me! 8O
That was around '72

I purchased my very own guitar after working at a donut shop making minimum wage at $1.45/hr.. it was called a Ventura.
Acoustic 6-string $160 in 1976.

I played through high school, in the Army, up until my wife and I were first married. I dropped it off at a pawn shop because I was tired of years of playing and writing songs with no one who seemed interested in hearing me play.
I should have kept it, but I've made up for it since.

Now I'm happy just to play for myself. :D

I went to six guitar lessons. I left because I wasn't learning anything useful other than all of the technical things.

I can't read music, nor tab. I just listen to something and try to play it. This works surprisingly well for me...I play by "feel".

I have been playing for around 15 years now, whilst my playing is obviously around the music I listen to (thrash/death metal) - I still know quite a lot of bluesy and rock n' roll stuff from when I first learnt. I currently only own a few guitars

BC Rich Warlock Bronze Series
Vintage Metal Axxe Flying V
Encore Stratocaster
Washburn Acoustic
