I'm not saying you're wrong as this is all opinion, but Stairway is not a great example of prime Led Zeppelin. How about Over the Hills and Far Away, Immigrant song, The Ocean, or Dazed and Confused?

As far as Led Zeppelin being over rated I'll agree that other groups should have gotten more notice, but that doesn't mean Zeppelin should have gotten any less.

I think theat they are overrated. Not only that, a lot of the songs they had hits with were by other people who recieved little crdit for LZ's theft of their music.

It's not an opinion that Led Zeppelin suck, it's a fact. If you like Led Zeppelin you either:

Like crappy music
Are a teenager
Grew up listening to them so you feel nostalgia every time you listen to them
Think they have a cool name so you listen to them
Are a fan of similar of bands who take themselves way too seriously (Nickelback for example)
Like music with crappy production

I'm sure that if Einstein were still alive he could scientifically prove that Led Zeppelin sucked.

In all seriousness, I think they might be a LITTLE overrated. I'm not a huge fan, but I have a couple of their albums and get great pleasure from listening to them.

That last line is almost enough to convince me on shock value alone, but no. I still love Robert Plant's scream and Jimmy Page's monstrous riffs.

It's not an opinion that all the music you like sucks, it's a fact.
