I thought it was an interesting book, but I didn't like the ending.
I'll always remember it though because it's one of the things that made me realise I have autistic traits - all the people who told me that I was just like the boy in the book!

I remember the author saying he disliked the fact that it got labelled as a book about Asperger's because he didn't mention AS in the book, just that the character went to a school for children with special needs. He just wanted people to see the character as himself and not as an example of a disorder. There is no such thing as a typical autistic person. I think, for this reason, people shouldn't complain that he was 'more autistic than asperger's' or 'too literal'. I suppose he was a bit stereotypical in some ways, though.

i have now bought the book, and shall read it over the next year ... i am bad with books!

I liked it a lot, I identified with the character a lot. Like, you know the bit where he says he always needs to know exactly what time it is? Well, I get freaked out if I don't know where I am geographically, like the time on the plane to Tenerife where I could see nothing but ocean and I thought it was the Bay of Biscay and it turned out I'd slept and we were actually south of Portugal.

I love that book I've read it about 3 times but it is a bit stereotypical and cliched at times. I mean trust christopher to be good at maths

my school does this thing where everyone(and i mean everyone) gets a copy of one book and has to read it. 2 years ago (my sophomore year) the Curious Incident was that book. I thought it was good, but Christopher was a little too much of a textbook case with AS or autism.

I have read it now, finished it last night, which meant i read it in like 3 nights (an hour a night) which for me is quick, but then i suppose its not a difficult book to read!

I enjoyed it, but as many have commented here, it is a bit text book Aspie, he does seem a bit like everything that AS could be, he had it, and i don't think that is the case in real life, its unfair to cast all Aspies the same way!

But, i did notice a few bits in it that i could relate with, which i had never thought about before, so i do feel it was a good read, and it had a very postive end, which does make even me realise that anyone can do anything if they put there mind to it!

its a good end with the amount of work i have on at the moment at uni, so yes!
I also found out that two of my house mates had read it years ago, although they do not know i am AS as i never told them!
