Flismflop said it very eloquently!

Quote:
I don't think any genre of music does, since music is open to interpretation by the listener.

I would say gothic metal or folk metal, but mainly because it's the kind of music I like best.

anna-banana, that's brilliant. Shoe-gaze has my vote (prog second though). I'd advise people not to take this too seriously - think of it as something along the lines as those 'what colour crayon are you' type discussions.

This is going to be totally off the wall, but...

Shona music. It's completely circular and repetitive, rhythmically interesting, has no beginning or end, and highly creative and improvisatory.

punk( like sum 41, less than jake, ill scarlet, rise against, green day and gob)

metal of all types like( three days grace, seether, avnaged sevenfold, metlica, acdc, slipknot and shinedown)

rapcore like( linkin park, zebrahead, papa roach, trapt, pod, saliva)

hardcore like( black flag, sucidal tendcies, minor threat, bad brains, gwar, caplaist cassities, siege and larm)

post hardcore like ( escape the fate , red jump suit appartus, senses fail, silverstein and taking back sunday)

and finally grindcore like ( infest, rotten sound and pig destoyer).

these are my top genres i think all are good for aspies thought i also listen to gangsta rap , skate rap, street rap, skate punk and street punk, but these are not good for most aspies cuz they aren't too many gangsta, skater, bmxer aspies but i am a skater / bmxer so that works i am not a gangsta but me and many skater/ bmxers like gangsta rap.

As it pertains to movie genres? Well, it tends to be Horror/Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Comedy as well as Documetaries and Westerns still, I don't limit myself film genre wise either for, I like a great many films of differing genres and forms..

Music wise, I tend to like a great deal of early 80's music as well, Native American music and much much more without having to type it all out..

There's no true answer to that.

For myself... music would have to be something intense and passionate, as well as quirky and unrestricted.
Perhaps something along the lines of Mariachi esc Desperado Romantic fiery stuff with a hint of Flamenco. I want to learn Spanish at some point, and understand the fundamentals of Flamenco music, and explore...

Could it be hip hop? But not the mainstream hip-hop, i talk about the rapper spitting complex rhymes constantly, lol.

It obviously would be tiring after a while, you need some relaxing melodies here and there of course hehe.

Thats just an idea, i don't listen to hip hop 24/7. I'd say its probably like a 15-20% of what i listen to. 8)

See, when I saw the title, my mind went to literary genres.

I don't recall who said it first, but it was said well: "The basic message of science fiction is that there exist minds which think as well as yours, but not like yours."

It would have to be surrealism if it was movies. Music it would be Devo (and if you don't think Devo is a genre you're kidding yourself.

Shoegaze was funny
