Rachmaninoff: "Barcarolle" from "Suite for Two Pianos", op 5. (What I love about Rachmaninoff - he make absolutely insane technical demands on pianists, but it's never just about showing off.)

I have been listening to a lot of Rachmaninoff lately. Fantastic! There's intention behind each note. It's definitely never just about virtuosity.

And now for something completely different! Bourrée for unaccompanied cello by JS Bach.

I love the cello. My mom has one that I could learn on, but I can't afford lessons. I'm not complaining, though. I really love my piano.

Glass - Violin Concerto

I especially like the second movement which begins at 15:53.

Once, I woke up from a dream with this piece in my head, but I couldn't remember the dream.

Clara Schumann - Piano Concerto in A minor

Thought I remembered you posting this, so I went back for a listen. I've heard it once before, on the radio about 20 years ago. Struck by just how good the orchestral writing is - much more advanced than either of the Chopin concertos!

It was my first listen. I liked it a lot, too. I need to listen to more music by both Schumanns.

Shostakovich - Cello Concerto No. 1

I love Shostakovich.
