Ha ha! I like James Herriot books [except for the veterinarian yucky parts]. Glebel, have you ever seen the mini-series [with Peter Davison]?

Yes, I have. That series is what drew me to Herriot's books. I agree with the surgery parts being gross, though I don't mind the calvings, etc. What I like most about them is the picture of country life that they portray.

"Port Mortuary" by Patricia Cornwell. Started reading the Scarpetta series years ago and the couple of books before this one didn't hold my interest so I stopped reading. I really loved the characters so I decided to pick up the series again. I needed something familiar since I'm going through a hard time right now.

Yeah, I'm enjoying it. The extras on the DVDs are pretty skimpy, a few commentaries and a few short documentaries, and I wanted something more substantial. It's a pretty good history of the show and was worth the money.
